Haryana Energy, Transport and Labour Minister, Sh. Anil Vij said that “A city progresses when people from outside come to see it.” He mentioned that there is a plan to introduce open/double decker buses in Ambala Cantonment, similar to those in major domestic and international metropolitan cities, which will take tourists around places like the Shaheed Smarak, Science Center, Bank Square, Rani Ka Talab and will finally reach Subhash Park. This will give people a great opportunity to see the beauty of the city.
Sh. Vij was presiding over a meeting at his residence in Ambala today, which was attended by the Subhash Park Management Committee, SDM, EO and other officers to discuss improvements and other work in Subhash Park. In the meeting, SDM Vineesh Kumar, EO Ravindra Kuhar, Chairman of the Subhash Park Management Committee Sanjeev Walia and other dignitaries were also present.
He said that Subhash Park has become a major attraction not only in Ambala but in Haryana, with the number of visitors increasing steadily. He directed the committee members and officers to start the operation of a toy train and hot air balloon for the entertainment of children. He also directed the Municipal Council officers to take immediate action on this, as it will further enhance the entertainment for children and people at the park.
Subhash Park will receive electricity from the hotline, Energy Minister Vij gives directions
During the meeting, Energy Minister, Sh. Anil Vij discussed the electricity supply to Subhash Park. He directed the discom officers to connect Subhash Park to the hotline, ensuring uninterrupted electricity supply to the park.
Seasonal and All-Weather Flowers to be planted in Subhash Park to keep it blooming all year round – Vij
During the meeting, Cabinet Minister, Sh. Anil Vij directed that while Subhash Park currently has several flowers and plants that attract visitors, the number of flowers should be increased so that the park remains in full bloom at all times. He suggested planting both seasonal and all-weather flowers in different parts of the park. He also directed the selection of flower varieties to be planted. Furthermore, he directed the Fisheries Department officers to release fish into the park’s lake to help keep the water clean. He also gave directions to repair and activate the fountains in the lake, regularly replenish the water in the lake, and ensure the musical fountain is checked regularly for evening enjoyment.
No vehicles allowed inside Subhash Park, Anil Vij gives strict directions
Cabinet Minister, Sh. Anil Vij expressed strong objections to small vehicles entering Subhash Park for transporting goods to the open-air theater and other tasks. He firmly stated that no vehicle will be allowed to enter the park in the future. He also directed that a permanent sound system be installed in the theater, and the music speakers placed at various spots in the park should be regularly operated/checked. Besides this, he directed that plastic dustbins be placed at various locations within the park.
During the meeting, Cabinet Minister, Sh. Anil Vij also directed that the entrance road for the food court should be from the main road side of the park, so that people passing by can also enjoy food and refreshments. He recommended that fresh tenders be invited for allotting both food courts. Furthermore, Sh. Vij proposed the inclusion of an e-library in the third hall of the park, where children could sit and read. He also suggested installing round tables for meetings related to park improvement work.
During the meeting, Sh. Vij gave further directions regarding park security, regular inspection of lights and surveillance at entry points, maintaining water levels in the lake, and other important guidelines to improve the park.
