Rewari/Jaipur, June 27 –
A Navy personnel hailing from Rewari has been arrested on charges of espionage for allegedly leaking sensitive defense information to a Pakistani female spy. The accused, Vishal Yadav, was posted as an Upper Division Clerk at Naval Bhawan in Delhi and was apprehended by the Jaipur Intelligence Unit from Manesar on June 16.

According to Inspector General Vishnu Kant Gupta of CID Security, Jaipur, Vishal was in contact with a Pakistani woman who posed as an Indian national named Priya Sharma. He allegedly shared classified details related to ‘Operation Sindoor’ in exchange for money. During interrogation, Vishal admitted to receiving ₹50,000 for leaking the operation-specific information and a total of ₹2 lakh via cryptocurrency for his espionage activities.

The intelligence team had been monitoring his social media communications, which ultimately led to his identification and arrest. A forensic examination of his mobile phone revealed evidence of financial transactions, exchange of sensitive messages, and sharing of confidential naval data with the foreign operative.

Vishal Yadav, a resident of Uttam Nagar, Rewari, originally hails from Pushinka village. He was produced before the CJM Court in Jaipur on Thursday, which sent him to police custody for four days for further investigation.

Authorities confirmed that Vishal’s arrest was kept confidential for security reasons, and his family was informed only on June 24, several days after his detention.

This development has raised serious concerns over internal data breaches and highlights the growing threat of digital espionage targeting key military installations in India.
